Ms. Smith also provided daily range of motion and strengthening exercises-fully within the scope of care for a CNA, but often neglected because of time constraints and physical difficulty-and assisted this patient in regaining her ability to walk after a hip fracture. Her focused, intentional care allowed the patient we mutually cared for to maintain her weight the entire 10 month period we worked together. Her care greatly enhanced the quality of life for this patient and helped her to retain a beautiful and dignified strength.
